Language Mine is my first self-published collection of poetry which was released on October 24th 2010.
"Scaffolding is a great support from which to build and remodel and fine tune but the trick is remembering that it's not the real thing; the mistake most people make with role models is forgetting that they are at best superficial caricatures of a much more complex reality"
-- Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick
This collection of poetry focuses on dismantling identity and ideology. It is divided into four discussions: the theories on which society bases their beliefs, the personal perspective of our own identity, the interactions with various institutions that help shape these theories and perspectives and lastly, our direct interactions with others that contribute to shaping these ideals.
Each poem is meant to break through the boundaries of what we accept as normal, creatively and mentally, leaving the reader free to contemplate or physically create and recreate (and recreate) oneself.
